Objects in an Embassy, curated by Chris Fusaro and Laura Azzalini, is an independently organized exhibition which seeks to unite local Canadian artists and designers to present their works in an unprecedented collective setting. Objects in an Embassy will take place in a heritage building located in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, one of the city’s oldest and historically rich neighborhoods. Formerly occupied by the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the location offers a formal yet domestic setting in which to present a variety of works from a selection of established and emerging artists and designers. With a special focus on furniture, painting and sculpture, Objects in an Embassy will propose a distinguished context where contemporary art and design can be understood as one in the same, a first in the city’s history.
